About Me

I am a mother of 4 wonderful children and am married to my husband of 19 years. We spent the first part of our marriage traveling around the country as my husband served as an officer in the Air Force. During this time we traveled from one side of the US to the other and I was able to develop my love of running and all things active.

I was a sprinter in High School and going more than once around the track was the equivalent of pure torture for me. However, when I got to college I realized that it was time for a change and started attempting to run distance. I started out slowly, struggling to make it once around the park by our home. As time went on I found myself able to run further and further. Now I think little of running a half-marathon on any given Saturday or getting up before the sun to get my run in while still maintaining a healthy respect for the sport.

Over the last few years I’ve added in swimming and biking and have a few triathlons under my belt. I love hiking, reading and eating. My running journey has had it’s highs and lows over the years which is why I encourage you to enter this challenge. Whether you’re a beginner and just getting started or someone who has been running for may years, join the challenge and see just how far those miles will take you! If I can do it, so can you! So lace up those shoes and get out the door and let’s get moving together!
